Seremban Diabetes Cohort

Welcome to The Seremban Diabetes (SeDia) cohort website. The Seremban Diabetes (SeDia) cohort is a 12-year longitudinal open observational cohort study of previously diagnosed and newly diagnosed diabetes patients who registered with National Diabetes Registry (NDR) at Klinik Kesihatan Seremban and their household family members. SeDia is established in Negeri Sembilan as the prevalence of diabetes in Negeri Sembilan was found to be 33.2%, which is the highest among the states and regions of Malaysia. SeDia addresses the needs of the country in understanding the causal-effects relationship of diabetes in Malaysia and provide a more comprehensive understanding of diabetes and its related complications, with the long-term goal of improving care and outcomes in individuals with diabetes.

How To Participate

This is an open long-term observational cohort study of patients with diabetes who registered with National Diabetes Registry (NDR) at Klinik Kesihatan Seremban and their household members. Patients with diabetes will be followed up for risk factors related to poor glycaemic control and the development of diabetic complications. The household family members will be followed up for risk factors for the development of diabetes.

How To Collaborate

The Seremban Diabetes Cohort Study welcomes interested researchers, industries and collaborators worldwide to participate in the study. Collaboration is encouraged as it helps to maximise the scientific impacts and wealth of the available data of the 5,000 diabetic individuals and their family members for a 12-years follow up.
