Welcome to the Seremban Diabetes (SeDia) Cohort website. The SeDia Cohort is a 12-year longitudinal, open observational study involving previously diagnosed and newly diagnosed diabetes patients registered with the National Diabetes Registry (NDR) at Seremban, along with their household family members and an unrelated non-diabetic cohort.
The SeDia Cohort was established in Negeri Sembilan, where the prevalence of diabetes is 33.2%, the highest among all states and regions in Malaysia. This study aims to address the country's need for a deeper understanding of the causal-effect relationships of diabetes in Malaysia. By providing a more comprehensive insight into diabetes and its related complications, the SeDia Cohort strives journey to address the silent epidemic of diabetes for generations to come.

The Seremban Diabetes Cohort Study welcomes interested researchers, industries and collaborators worldwide to participate in the study. Collaboration is encouraged as it helps to maximise the scientific impacts and wealth of the available data
The Institute for Research, Development, and Innovation (IRDI) of the International Medical University (IMU) successfully signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pantai Medical Centre Sdn Bhd of IHH Healthcare on 2 August 2022. As part of this agreement, IHH Healthcare has sponsored a total of RM 2 million for the Seremban Diabetes (SeDia) Cohort study
SeDia Cohort is established, maintained and governed as a collaborative public-private partnership between the Ministry of Health (MOH), Malaysia and the International Medical University (IMU), Kuala Lumpur. The MOH will be represented by Negeri Sembilan Health Department and Seremban District Health Office.
