Diabetes symposium and launching event

Precision Medicine in Diabetes Symposium aims to brings together the latest technology advancements and clinical knowledge in diabetes care and management, as well as industrial applications and key insights. Our unique mix of academia and industry partners enable you to meet with experts and pioneers at the forefront of research, as well as explore real world case studies to discover the best care and management for diabetes. The symposium also provides a forum for students, faculty, healthcare professionals and the community to discuss cutting edge research topics on diabetes care, management, prevention, and personalised interventional programme.
The symposium includes sharing sessions by several invited eminent keynote speakers and experts who will debate on the key themes, trends and current practices for the audience. The symposium will be held on 8 July 2023 in conjunction with the official launch of the Seremban Diabetes (Sedia) Cohort Study. The symposium will begin with two industry talks on “Diabetes Care: Living in a Techno World” and “Machine-Learning-Based Retinal Image Analysis for Undiagnosed Diabetes and Other Chronic Disease Risk Assessments”. This will follow by Opening Remarks by Professor Dr Abdul Aziz Baba (Vice Chancellor, IMU), Officiating Speech by Dr Zaliha Binti Mustafa (Ministry of Health Malaysia), and keynote address on “Diabetes in Malaysia - Burden and Challenges” by Prof Dato' Dr Mafauzy Mohamed (Senior Consultant Endocrinologist, HUSM). The launching of the Seremban Diabetes (Sedia) Cohort Study will then be officiated by Duli Yang Maha Mulia Yang Di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan in the presence of Minister of Health Dr Zaliha Binti Mustafa.
