Cohort Description

This is a long-term observational cohort study on patients with diabetes and their household members. Patients with diabetes will be followed up for risk factors related to poor glycaemic control and the development of diabetic complications. The household family members will be followed up for risk factors for the development of diabetes. In this study, patients with diabetes who registered with National Diabetes Registry (NDR) at Klinik Kesihatan Seremban will be recruited over a three-year period (2023 – 2025). Each participant will be followed up within the next 3-years period. It will be an open cohort study where all patients with diabetes registered under the National Diabetes Registry (NDR) who are being followed up at Klinik Kesihatan Seremban (KKS) will be invited to participate. Household family members of these index patients with diabetes will also be invited to participate in the cohort.
